Hello! I'm Ash, a type of mud faery. My maker said, as a rule, I usually deal with whatever is left behind after a forest fire, turning pieces of burnt wood and ashes into new soil. But since fires are rare, I also work with dried out things, and, on occasion, dead stuff. Saronai adopted me. I'm her more earthy muse!
Help the mud faeries find a home! Follow Ash to adopt one of his friends and Plant a Tree today!

Virtually Awesome Gifting
The family who games together stays together. In fact, that reminds me, I forgot about sharing some recent work I commissioned from a few artists I follow. It’s even on topic because I paid for it with virtual currency. So, … Continue reading
Breaking Monotony
Memory Monday Breaking Monotony Back in high school, my junior year (I think) I sat through a common sort of boredom: Reading an uninteresting play with assigned read-aloud parts. We took our turns in the silent agreement of force, reading … Continue reading
Dream of Two Butterflies
In my dream, I climbed into the back seat when I saw movement. Two newly emerging monarch butterflies from cocoons nestled around the edges of the back window. I remember nearly forgetting about the monarch caterpillar my son and I … Continue reading
Around the Harry Potter World
In the Harry Potter series, JK Rowling created a fantastic wizarding world many around the world (myself included) enjoy. We even read (and/or watched) sample tastes of the wizarding world in France and Norway/Sweden (with students from as far … Continue reading
Being Odd Never Bothered Me Anyway
I stop still when my father grabs my hair. His grip is gentle, but I’m afraid of pulling anyway. My scalp always was sensitive. “What are you doing?” “French braiding your hair.” I can feel him moving my hair in … Continue reading
The Slow-Learning Chef
That’s me! Growing up, my mom preferred having the kitchen to herself. As a result (and tomboyish lack of interest), learning the art of cooking took me quite awhile. In fact, I’m still learning! Memories of bad results pour from … Continue reading
Rattlesnake Park
Rattlesnake Park A Memory Monday Dream Entry Most of the time my dreams are merely stories my brain tells itself while sleeping. The movie reel playing in my head all night. My brain tells scary stories, frustrated stories, high adventure … Continue reading
In Sarah’s Yard
I run up and push a swing. “Did you see that?!” I point at the still moving object, my heart thrums in my ears and a chill races up my legs, tingling at my ears. “A demon!” Sarah shouts, feigning … Continue reading
Dancing in the Rain
I most definitely cheat on my themes. Instead of a real memory for Memory Monday today, a topic I wish was a memory from history classes. Enter, Zitkala-Sa. I spent all night reading about her (yeah, insomnia again). As usual … Continue reading
