Hello! I'm Ash, a type of mud faery. My maker said, as a rule, I usually deal with whatever is left behind after a forest fire, turning pieces of burnt wood and ashes into new soil. But since fires are rare, I also work with dried out things, and, on occasion, dead stuff. Saronai adopted me. I'm her more earthy muse!
Help the mud faeries find a home! Follow Ash to adopt one of his friends and Plant a Tree today!

Dancing in the Rain
I most definitely cheat on my themes. Instead of a real memory for Memory Monday today, a topic I wish was a memory from history classes. Enter, Zitkala-Sa. I spent all night reading about her (yeah, insomnia again). As usual … Continue reading
The Hideout
Trees, most only a foot-thick, stretched forever ahead, promising adventure. “Stay out of the woods,” Monet repeated her aunt’s warning before she sent them all outside. Monet didn’t mind, she loved it outside at her cousin’s new house, hidden in … Continue reading
Junkyard Beauty
The old, drab-coloured mom and pop bait shop several blocks away provided little in the way of entertainment, even for the most bored of pre-teens. I found myself there all the same, with nothing better to do than poke around. … Continue reading
In the Rain
In several posts, you may find mention of my love for rain. Many of my favourite memories involve playing in a stormless rain, or getting caught out in it. I find it beautiful and calming. A light sprinkle blessed my … Continue reading

Snow Faerie Dance * Beautiful they fall, Dancing to the ground. Almost cannot see them, Unless you know to LOOK Glittery white figures, Disguised as flakes of snow, See the bigger picture, Their figures you’ll behold. They still my breath, … Continue reading
Vision Quest
Vision Quest The drum sounds in my ear, A rhythmic, steady beat. The fire ‘fore me flares, Filling me with heat. Who faults imagination? It gives a place to go. Without imagination, some ends will have no goals. A cool … Continue reading
All in the Wings
Summer in North Carolina, though hot and sticky, presents a rich wildlife experience. My mother took us on adventures that year, but the marshes and swamps presented the best photo ops. There’s something amazing about seeing specific animals in the … Continue reading
