Hello! I'm Ash, a type of mud faery. My maker said, as a rule, I usually deal with whatever is left behind after a forest fire, turning pieces of burnt wood and ashes into new soil. But since fires are rare, I also work with dried out things, and, on occasion, dead stuff. Saronai adopted me. I'm her more earthy muse!
Help the mud faeries find a home! Follow Ash to adopt one of his friends and Plant a Tree today!

Dream of Two Butterflies
In my dream, I climbed into the back seat when I saw movement. Two newly emerging monarch butterflies from cocoons nestled around the edges of the back window. I remember nearly forgetting about the monarch caterpillar my son and I … Continue reading
This Lazy, No-good Writer Still Lives
Yep, still alive. Still working on the next episodes of Silent Rain. I confess I painted myself into a bit of a corner and rather than throw some fancily sloppy footwork together escaping it, I’m trying to beat it into … Continue reading
A is for Adventure
Just found out about a fun blog theme bandwagon. Not one much for band wagons normally, but this one sounds fun (even if, by virtue of being late, I am participating unofficially). What am I talking about? The A to … Continue reading
Stalemate: A Journey Piece
Five story attempts into my novel-writing pursuit (started in the eighth grade), I stumbled on a persistent one. While the earlier ideas float around in my head, possibly getting a new novel one day, Stalemate follows every new step of … Continue reading
Inspired Blogging
Awhile back I was given another website award. Clicking the icon will take you directly to the awarding post from Kimberly Mellor. She is rather new to the blogosphere but I find her posts endearing and easily relatable. I appreciate … Continue reading
Phoenix Rising
Today’s Fiction Friday features the unpublished work of my close writing buddy, Kyrias. Her current project’s name? Estyria. Estyria follows a character of the same name on her adventures in the fantasy land of her birth. A land stuck in … Continue reading
Round Two: Go!
Paper Sun vs. Stalemate The battle of ideas continues… Cutting right to it this time. This is a continuation of the battle of ideas started with my post called Round One: Fight The choices thus far stand independent of prior … Continue reading
Round One: Fight!
Silent Rain vs. Hyper Gear The battle of ideas has begun. What’s this about then? Something I should have started back in October. You know…before nanowrimo. I never win nanowrimo even though I pretend to enter it almost every year … Continue reading
